After all of my talk that I would not be wearing 'bridal' shoes, I tried on my dress and realized that I pretty much was talking out of my ass.
Now that my dress actually fits (thank you to the kindly English seamstress who only wanted to charge me 20 pounds), I realize that the dress can only accommodate a 1-inch heal and that a significant amount of the shoe is visible, even when I'm just standing.
So I've spent the last two weeks searching for a white/ivory/champagne/metallic and low heal that is not fugly. I rather think the task is impossible.
Disheartened and disappointed, I have cheered myself up by purchasing these bad boys off of Ebay:

I love them. They are far too high to wear on the wedding day but they will be making the rounds during a wedding we will attend this summer, the rehearsal dinner, and our reception in the UK.

I feel your pain. It's definitely hard to find 1-inch heels that are still pretty. How about something sleek and timeless like this, in champagne satin?: http://stuartweitzman.zappos.com/n/p/dp/20874004/c/933.html
Love them! Too bad they won't make it down the aisle but I'm sure their substitute will be lovely too!
