First it was the closure of the Royal Worcester building (after trading for over 250 years), now Worcester's other claim to fame is being formally axed.

The £20 note - which depicts the Worcester Cathedral and Worcester's most famous son Sir Edward Elgar - is being withdrawn from circulation and will no longer be accepted in stores from tomorrow. I thought it was a rather pretty note but such is progress I guess...


Hope Lea & Perrins isn't next!
